In an attempt to initiate research and innovation and to provide inspiration and motivation in diverse spheres of learning. The Indian School is constantly exploring new initiatives which involve not merely our but also other schools of Delhi.
Malhaar
The Malhaar is an inter-school music & dance competition held in July every year. It invokes the rain gods and celebrates our school’s water-harvesting plant.
Each year the school selects a new theme for the contest – this year it was European Music and folk dance. Last year we focused on the North East of India and invited Padma Shri Raj Kumar Singhajit Singh & Smt. Charu Sija Mathur to give a lecture demonstration on Manipuri dance. In the earlier years, we concentrated on the Moghul era and the students performed Kathak.
Malhaar attracts around 20 schools and has become a much awaited event on the Delhi school circuit.
