The Indian School Primary classes participated in the inter-school Athletics Meet organised by R.S. Junior Modern School on 9 and 10 February 2023. The Meet was for classes 4 and 5. Ms Tanuja Bisht, primary school P.E. teacher at our School, accompanied the 18-member strong athletics team to the host school. The primary-level Athletics Meet attracted the participation of 13 prominent schools from across Delhi NCR.
On Day One, the young athletes competed energetically to qualify for the finals of all the track events held on Day Two.
Dhruv Nambiar of 5E won the Bronze Medal in the hurdle race for boys, and Vishal Mondal of 5C and Aditya Patra of 5E bagged the Bronze Medal in the 100 x 2 relay race for boys. In the girls’ shot-put, Yashika Sehgal of 5B bagged the Bronze Medal.
The Headmistress of R.S. Modern School handed over the gleaming medals to the beaming winners. Such competitions are highly motivating and helpful in developing enthusiasm amongst budding athletes, nurturing their latent athletic abilities by motivating them to take specific training, excel further, and participate in different contests.
