“Travel is rich with learning opportunities, and the ultimate souvenir is a broader perspective.” – Rick Steves

The Indian School endeavours to provide holistic learning to its young and impressionable wards. Classroom learning is thus often linked to experiential learning.

Keeping this in mind, a field trip to National Bal Bhavan was arranged for the students of class 1, a fantastic occasion for pupils to learn at their own pace. A group of 150 students escorted by their teachers visited the ‘one of its kind’ museum on Wednesday, 8 February 2023.

The museum houses a breathtaking collection of folk art and craft reflecting our glorious heritage, includeing beautiful dolls depicting various epics and tales.

A wide range of creative and literary activities were conducted at the venue, thereby, encouraging freedom of expression and curiosity amongst the children. The handicrafts, the wall paintings, the animal models and the decorative pieces made from waste by children, made for a brilliant and beautiful display.

Next, students visited the traffic park located on the campus, where they learnt about the dos and don’ts of driving, and walking on the road as well as about road signs and traffic rules. The students also visited the mini zoo and the aquarium at the museum. They explored the Hamara Bharat room that presented a panorama of Indian life, its diverse culture, rich art, craft and advancements in the fields of science and technology. At last, the students and teachers treated themselves to some scrumptious snacks!

This educational and fun filled trip proved to be a wonderful opportunity for students to discover and learn.
