May the Lord Vighna Vinayaka remove all obstacles and shower you with bounties!

Festivals build cohesiveness, bring people together, break the monotony of routine, and energise the body, mind, and spirit. Echoing this festive spirit and carrying forward the tradition of Ganesha visarjan, the idol was immersed on 6 September 2022. The bedecked eco-friendly Ganesha idol dissolved in water and the holy water was then sprinkled on the plants of the school garden.

Ganesha is the first to be worshiped among all the Gods in Hindu mythology. He is known as the God of Prosperity who removes all obstacles and bestows happiness and peace.

The concluding day of the 10 day festival is also popularly known as Anant Chaturdashi, that is the day when the idol is immersed in water.

Ten students ( Kathan, Jiaansh, Md. Ashhad, Aarav, Anaira and Agastya to name a few) of classes I and II participated in the immersion along with their teachers.

Multiple musical instruments such as the lezim, dhol and the manjira were used to heighten the fervour that accompanies the ritual. Lord Ganesha was carried aloft in a procession along with the students through the school corridors with loud cheers of “Ganpati Bappa Morya!” It is believed that immersing the idol in water helps in the preservation of balance, blocking the progression of evil and removing obstacles from the path of goodness and wellbeing.

Modaks (sweets) were distributed as a token of blessings for everyone.
