The culture of a nation resides in the hearts and the soul of its people.

The students of classes I and II presented a special assembly on Gender Equality on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan on 10th August, 2022 in the school auditorium.

At our School, the festival is an important tool of reaching out about gender equality when girls and boys equally tie rakhis on the wrists of each other.

The assembly started with Tyasha Kaur Bindra of 1B explaining the significance of Raksha Bandhan, a festival which strengthens and celebrates the ties between brothers and sisters, entailing them to protect and cherish each other forever. Rubani Kaur of IC familiarised her peers with the customs and rituals observed on Raksha Bandhan. Harlin of IE talked about Gender Equality.

Samarth Bhardwaj (I-A), Samrat Anand(I-B), Ketan (I-C), Sadi Ahmad (I-D), and Jai Ahuja (I-E) as brothers and Advika Gupta, Adrika Dash(I-A), Lavanya Fulfagar(I-B), Lanvya(I-C), Yuvika (I-D) and Haanvika (I-E) as their sisters tied rakhis on each other’s wrists and reinforcing their relationship as one based on equality, affection, and mutual respect.

The little audience seemed to be receptive and engrossed while tying the rakhi. They were filled with endearment as they heard about the origin of the custom of rakhi and felt protective about each other.
