It is time to dispel the darkness of ignorance within and replace it with the light of hope and knowledge. The Festival of Lights came alive when the Pre-primary children of The Indian School virtually conducted a special assembly on Diwali with zeal on 2 November 2021.
The programme commenced with a brief description of the festival by the students, by turn. They spoke a few lines to share information about why and when the festival is celebrated.
The children presented a delightful skit to spread awareness about the harmful effects of fireworks and motivate their listeners to ensure a safe and environment-friendly Diwali.
The students showed concern for the ill effects of crackers, and they pledged to celebrate a Green Diwali by saying “NO TO CRACKERS”. An endearing recitation of short poems on Diwali by the tiny tots left the audience in awe.
The young choir sang Diwali songs-’ Deep jalao deep jalao’ and ‘ Mere tumhare sabke liye’. The audience applauded the foot-tapping group dance by the proficient young dancers.
The assembly was a fine composition of dance, drama and music, aesthetically showcasing Indian traditions and values.
The programme was enjoyed by one and all.
