Gurupurab is celebrated to mark the birth of the first Sikh guru, Guru Nanak Dev. Our Pre primary department conducted a virtual assembly to celebrate Gurupurab on 27 November 2020. The assembly was held in two slots where classes Merak, Leo and Orion comprised Group 1 and presented their part from 8 am to 8:25 am. Gemini, Vega and Orion comprised the second group and presented their show from 8:30 am to 8:55 am.

The students staged a beautiful performance which apprised their peers of the principles and teachings of the great Guru. The skit vividly brought forth the values of ‘kar seva’ or ‘selfless service’- a tradition set forth with the clear understanding that there is God within all of us, and by serving humanity we are serving God Himself. Videos on Guru Nanak’s life and spiritual journey were shown to the little students which reiterated the message that there us only one God.

The students presented a beautiful rendition of the Ek Omkar. The melodious rendition of the shabads and rhymes by the children was truly exemplary.

The children dressed in vibrant kurtas looked very impressive. The little ones enthralled the audience with their performance.
