As customary, the students of class 8 are organising a Diwali Mela as part of a mathematical activity. The event will be organised for the students of classes 6 and 7 on 25th October 2019 between 8:30 am and 11:30 am in the School auditorium.
The Mela has the following aims.
· To encourage Financial Literacy among students.
· To enable a better understanding of mathematical concepts such as Profit and Loss, Discount and Percentages, in a hands’ on experience.
· To realise the value of money
· To build team spirit and organisational skills.
· To ingrain qualities of compassion and sharing through shramdaan.
The Mela will include the following attractions prepared by students of class 8.
* Handmade items such as cards, diyas and torans.
* Bakery items, juices, savouries and snacks prepared by the students themselves.
* Mathematical and skill based games.
The students of classes 6 and 7 can buy coupons for the Mela from their respective class teachers. Parents are requested to keep a cap on expenses while extending their cooperation to make the event a success.
The proceeds of the Mela will be donated as SHRAMDAAN.
