Oxford University Press workshop for Primary teachers

A highly engaging and informative workshop was conducted by Oxford University Press on 15 April 2025, specially curated for the teachers of Classes I to V, with a focus on empowering educators through modern teaching tools and pedagogical strategies. It was titled 'Igniting Innovation in Education'.

The workshop opened with an energising activity- 'Walk, Stop, Jump, Clap', which immediately set a lively and interactive tone for the session. This playful warm-up fostered a collaborative atmosphere, encouraging active participation and enthusiasm among the teachers.

The speaker then introduced the participants to Oxford’s intuitive Learning Management System (LMS). With a hands-on demonstration, she walked the listeners  teachers through the key features of the platform, including how to efficiently create test papers, assign tasks and track student progress. The LMS was highlighted as a user-friendly tool that supports both, in-class and remote learning environments.

A core focus of the session was Oxford’s Blended Learning and Competency-Based Learning frameworks, both of which align closely with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The resource person emphasised that Oxford’s flexible and gamified learning approach fosters the development of LSRWGV skills- Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Grammar and Vocabulary, while also nurturing essential 21st century global competencies.

Another highlight was the detailed discussion on assessment design, grounded in Bloom’s Taxonomy. The teachers were guided on how to structure assessments that address various cognitive levels, from knowledge and understanding to application and higher-order thinking skills, thereby ensuring a well-rounded evaluation process.

The workshop equipped educators with contemporary tools and strategies to elevate classroom teaching and learning experiences. Participants left the session feeling inspired and better prepared to implement NEP 2020 aligned practices, with a renewed commitment to fostering learner success through innovation and engagement.
