Pre school and Pre primary engage with the significance of healthy eating on World Food Day
On 16th October 2025, the Pre School and Pre Primary of The Indian School joyfully observed World Food Day with enthusiasm and curiosity. The day began with a cheerful discussion on the importance of food, the value of eating healthy, and the need to avoid food wastage.
The Pre schoolers took part in an exciting ‘Mystery Food Bag’ activity, where they explored a bag filled with food items like carrots, apples, nuts, pulses, rice, and corn. Using their sense of touch and observation, the little 'detectives" identified each item, developing their curiosity sensory awareness, and fine motor skills, while having loads of fun!
Meanwhile, the Pre Primary children donned their creative chef hats to design balanced food platters. They thoughtfully arranged foods from the different groups — proteins, carbohydrates, dairy, and salads — and later shared their colourful platters with their friends in the Pre School section, spreading the message of sharing and healthy eating.
The celebration concluded with a lively corridor parade, where the young learners proudly displayed slogans and placards promoting messages like “Say No to Junk Food,” “Eat Right, Stay Bright,” and “Zero Food Wastage.” The cheerful chant and colourful displays filled the corridors with positive energy and awareness.
The day was not only a feast for the senses but also a meaningful learning experience — helping our tiny tots understand that food is a gift to be respected, shared, and enjoyed responsibly.
Healthy bites, happy hearts — that’s where good living starts
