Pre primary visits the National Rail Museum

“An excursion is not just a journey, but a doorway to new experiences and knowledge.”
On 15 October 2025, the students of Pre Primary, along with their teachers, visited the National Rail Museum. Brimming with curiosity, the children set off to explore the fascinating world of trains, enjoying a day that was both fun and full of learning.
The day began with eager anticipation as the children boarded the buses. Their excitement was infectious, and the journey was filled with cheerful singing of familiar rhymes like “The Wheels on the Bus” and “If You’re Happy and You Know It.”
Upon arriving at the museum, the children were divided into two groups to ensure they gained the fullest experience from the visit. While one group explored the exhibits, the other enjoyed a ride on the Joy Train. The children were deeply engaged by the extensive range of train models and demonstrated keen curiosity about the historical development of rail transport. They enthusiastically exchanged their insights, showing particular enjoyment in observing the authentic sounds and motions of the trains.
The highlight of the visit for the students, was undoubtedly, the Joy Train ride. Their faces lit up with pure delight as they experienced the ride, and many shared stories of train journeys they had taken with their families. This helped them connect classroom learning about transportation to real-life experiences, making the day all the more meaningful.
Through the visit, the children enthusiastically posed for photographs with the exhibits, preserving moments that would become lasting memories. Many wished the visit could continue a little longer, reluctant to see such a fun-filled and enriching day come to an end.
The journey back to School was a quieter one; the children, pleasantly tired yet content, reflected on the day’s adventures with smiles of satisfaction. The National Rail Museum truly proved to be a perfect destination, seamlessly blending learning with enjoyment and leaving everyone with a sense of wonder and delight.
The visit provided the children with an immersive, experiential learning opportunity that enhanced their comprehension of trains and transportation systems, while fostering curiosity, enthusiasm, and meaningful educational engagement.
