Self Discovery

LEARNING TO DRAW WHO AM I...

Symbolically, at the beginning of each year, The Indian School students embark on a self-exploration, first through drawing and painting, specially for the little ones, and later through writing. In the beginning only a couple of sentences, then perhaps a poem or a paragraph or both, then an essay and finally, by the time students reach class X, self discovery becomes a chapter in an autobiography.

Through this exercise students learn to evaluate themselves, more importantly, at their own pace and thus prepare for choices in life. We ask teachers to collect these exercises and place them in a special album so that at the end of 14 years of school, they have a wonderful and unique record of the child’s progress to preserve for posterity.
