Sports and Physical Education

CHAIRMAN WITH THE DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION MS SOUMYA GUPTA, THE CHIEF GUEST

Great importance is given to developing a healthy lifestyle.

Senior School Curriculum:
Physical Education is offered as a subject option for Classes XI and XII

A day at The Indian School begins with all the students marching four to five rounds in the school grounds followed by regular calisthenics. Two classes of physical training are compulsory for each student every week. From the nursery classes children participate in gymnastics and yoga which helps develop confidence, agility and neuro-muscular coordination and reduce stress. Students take part in national and zonal events.

We have special sports coaching facilities for children before and after school hours.

Our school is privileged to be one of the pilot schools of the British Council's PEC India programme.

A collaborative effort of the Government of India with the British Council and Youth Sports Trust who are working on a sport development programme designed to raise awareness and understanding of the impact of physical education on the child. It is an extremely participative and interactive programme, with subject linkages as well, thus actively involving teachers in the ‘games’. Designed for the Primary level it has been successfully implemented in our school in Classes I to V. Learning has become all the more fun as it is now associated with games and has certainly helped the children to release energies, pick up on concentration levels and learn team spirit.

A TUG OF WAR

Prafull Foundation gives awards and certificates of merit to motivate the students to follow their passion.
