Citizenship Programme initiative: Students conduct sports lessons at nearby municipal school
On 29 July 2026, Avika Kapoor (IX-A), Peehu (IX-C), Arnav Anand (IX-D) and Pranav Upadhyay (IX-D) visited a neighbouring MCD School as a part of the School Citizenship Programme. The visit aimed to promote community engagement and foster the values of cooperation, friendship, teamwork and active participation through sports and recreational activities.
The programme began with a warm-up and running session, followed by football, kho-kho and volleyball. The volunteers also interacted with the students in conversations and group activities, creating a friendly and inclusive environment. The sessions encouraged the students to develop sporting skills while promoting confidence, communication, cooperation and a positive attitude towards physical activity.
On 5 August 2026, Arjun Tara (IX-B), Sanchit Chauhan (VIII-D), Gurshaan Singh Bindra (VIII-D) and Yashvardhan Saini (IX-C) visited the MCD School, Sadiq Nagar. The visit aimed to encourage community engagement, promote physical activity and provide students with an opportunity to participate in sporting activities.
The volunteers conducted a warm-up session and introduced the students to football and kho-kho, explaining the basic skills and rules of the games. The students participated with great enthusiasm, while the volunteers emphasised the importance of teamwork, discipline, cooperation, regular exercise and an active lifestyle. The activities also helped foster confidence, communication and a positive attitude towards sports.
The programme provided a valuable learning experience for both the volunteers and the participating students. While the volunteers gained a deeper understanding of community service, empathy and sharing knowledge, the students benefited from an engaging and enjoyable sporting experience. Their enthusiastic participation made the visit successful and memorable.
On 5 August 2026, Jaza Rizvi (IX-A), Peehu (IX-C), Aarya (IX-B) and Hervie Jain (X-A) visited an MCD School as a part of Citizenship Programme. The visit aimed to promote physical activity, sports participation, social interaction and the values of responsible citizenship.
The programme commenced with a warm-up and running session, followed by basketball, dodgeball and chess. The activities provided opportunities for the students to develop physical and cognitive skills while fostering teamwork, coordination, concentration, cooperation and healthy competition. The volunteers also engaged with the students through conversations and group activities, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
The visit was an enriching experience for both the volunteers and the students. It enabled the volunteers to demonstrate leadership, empathy and social responsibility while encouraging the students to value kindness, respect, cooperation and active participation. The enthusiastic response of the students contributed to the overall success of the Citizenship Programme.
