Students and teachers attend AI Summit

The Artificial Intelligence, Prospects and Impact Summit” was organised at Bharat Mandapam as the official pre-summit event of the AI Impact Event 2026. The event was attended by principals, teachers, coordinators and students from various institutions. The Indian School was represented by Principal Ms Tania Joshi, Computer Science HoD Ms Simranjeet Kaur and students Ayaan Ahmad (XI), Aarav Bansal (XI), Avika Bansal (VII) and Aryan Sehgal (IX).

The event commenced with an opening ceremony at which the dignitaries lit the ceremonial lamp, symbolising an auspicious beginning. This was followed by the presentation of a customary green gift to each dignitary. The gathering was then addressed by the dignitaries by turn. Mr Darrin Farrant, Director UNIC Delhi and Chief Guest, Mr Hojeong Ko, Director Korean Education Centre, Ms Joyce Poan, Chief of Education UNESCO, Dr Prerna Gaur, Campus Director NSUT Delhi, Dr Sanjay Kumar Dhurandhar, Executive Director NIELIT MeitY Government of India and Ms Swarnima Luthra, Principal ASN Senior Secondary School. The dignitaries spoke on the theme “How AI is on Track to Become the Next Revolution in Technology” and shared how their organisations are integrating artificial intelligence into their systems while ensuring its responsible use.

The summit featured 3 sessions. The first session highlighted the applications of AI in the modern world, including its role in supporting persons with disabilities to promote inclusivity. The importance of human capital in the development and effective use of AI was also emphasised, with special reference to precision agriculture and improved crop yields.

The second session focused on the use of AI in education and supported a human centric approach to its integration in classrooms. The speakers highlighted the evolving role of teachers as guides and mentors in an information rich environment. The third session concluded with a valedictory ceremony in which the speakers stressed the importance of responsible use of AI and cautioned against its misuse through manipulated images.

The organisers of HT PACE later honoured selected principals for their leadership in guiding schools through the AI era. Ms Tania Joshi was among those felicitated for her leadership. The winners of the “AI Research Article Competition” were also felicitated. The event concluded with a vote of thanks.

Overall, the summit was an enriching experience that demonstrated how artificial intelligence can be effectively used in education and society. AI was presented as a powerful tool that supports human effort rather than replacing it. The summit reinforced the idea that “when thinking stops, learning stops”.
