URGENT APPEAL: Responding to Disaster

Greetings from Goonj! 

Monsoon floods have struck vast regions of eastern and northeastern parts of India, displacing thousands of people. The situation in Assam and Bihar is especially critical, as some villages are still submerged, causing severe damage to peoples’ livestock, livelihood, and homes. 

Goonj is actively working on ground with its experienced state teams, together with our grassroots partners. Even as our relief efforts are underway, the escalating demand throughout north and northeast India is rapidly increasing our resource needs. Our teams are also monitoring reports of heavy rains in Uttarakhand while Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh are experiencing road damage and landslides due to intense rainfall. 

Your monetary contribution is urgently required for supporting the growing logistics and transportation costs around our relief operations. Material contribution of essentials like dry ration, general clothing, mosquito nets, blankets, sanitary pads, general medicines, etc. is urgently needed.
