The 10th Dr. Amidas Goradia inter-School Debate in Hindi was held at our School on November 7th2014. The event saw the participation of over 19 schools from across Delhi. The winners Trophy was won by St. Thomas School, while the Runners up Trophy was awarded to Raghubir Singh Junior Modern School.
Sayesha Banga of St.Thomas School was adjudged Best Speaker. Sameechi Choudhary of R.S.J Modern School and Lavanya Chadha of St. Thomas School bagged 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
[gallery link="file"]Principal, Mrs. Tania Joshi welcomed Chief Guest, Mr. Divik Ramesh, eminent writer and former Principal, Motilal Nehru College, Delhi.
Mr. Ramesh complimented the young debaters for their confidence and the clarity of their thoughts. He said it is vital for children to develop the art of public-speaking to learn to communicate clearly.
The panel of jurists comprising Mrs. Surekha Padandikar ( eminent writer and President, Bachpan Organisation); Mrs. Kalpana Sharma (Asst. Professor, Gargi College) and Mr. Abhinav Upadhyay ( education reporter, Dainik Jagran State Bureau) named winners for their confidence, presentation and content.
