Sprindales School, Pusa Road, held the 25th Inter School Rosalind Wilson Book Discussion on 11 December, 2020. In the current pandemic, the discourse was held on a virtual platform. The non-competitive event was attended by participants from 50 schools of Delhi-NCR. The chief guest on the occasion was Dr Nirmalya Samanta, ex Springdalian and Associate Professor in the Department of English at Ramanujan College, University of Delhi.

Dhwani Arora of class XII represented our School at the event.

For the past 24 years, the host school has been organising this non-competitive event to encourage young people into the world of literature and creative writing. This year the discussion was on the book, EDUCATED by Tara Westover.

The participants expressed their opinions, analyses and understanding of the text as well as the authors style with originality and conviction. Each participant spoke for 2-2.5 minutes. What made the event very interesting was Dr Samantas perspective of the story which added a new dimension to the existing plot. He also suggested ways in which students can enhance their presentations and gave valuable feedback.

The event gave the students an opportunity and the liberty to discuss various aspects of the book and acquire new perspectives. It also deepened their appreciation and understanding of the writers work.

The discussion was an enriching experience and enjoyed by all.
