Shivali spoke on the topic ' We Must Learn to Fight Each Other's Battles' and talked about how internal fragmentation was hindering India's growth, while Pranati spoke on the topic " The Government Must Act Towards Protecting the Rights of the Minorities.'; She talked about the need to accept diversity and altering ideologies keeping apace with the times.
The panel of judges included Mr. Sohail Hashmi, write and film maker; Mr. Parnab Mukherjee, media analyst, art curator and performance consultant; Ms. Radha Nair, PGT English, Bal Bharti School. Mr. Mukherjee emphasised the distinction between a debate and a declamation, and advised students to work on fluency and content.
It was a tough competition as a number of reputed schools vied for the trophy. While the Runners-Up trophy went to St. Columba's School, our School was adjudged Best School, coming first in the Competition!
It was a moment of great pride for us and we are thankful to our School for giving us an opportunity to bring home the laurels.
Ms. Pranati Haldia, XII C.
