A tete a tete with eminent Indian litterateurs- classes 11 and 12

News' channel 'Aaj Tak' took a big step on 12th and 13th November 2016 by organising the literary event Sahitya Aaj tak. It aimed at discovering the wonders of Hindi literature in yesterday's and today's world. 11 students of classes IX and X had the opportunity to attend this event on the 12th. Students attended two sessions on this day.

The first session named 'Dil Chahta Hai' was a one-on-one conversation with the famous Indian poet, lyricist and screenwriter, Javed Akhtar. The session included Mr. Akhtar discussing the scope of Hindi literature beyond the realms of cinema. He mainly talked about how our vocabulary has diminished over time, but he also spoke about how it is this generation that is trying to work towards promoting Hindi literature and to keep it alive.

The next session titled 'Masti ki Pathshala' was an interaction with screenwriter, lyricist and ad-guide, Parsoon Joshi. The session focussed on how lyricists today, work more for themselves than for the director. Mr. Joshi was also kind enough to share some of his verse with us, leaving the audience in great awe and ensuring the session became an unforgettable one!

Both sessions focussed on social issues as well, women empowerment. Together both sessions, were a wonderfully enriching experience and a day that will not be easily forgotten.
