ACCESS 2013

Computer and Information have, without a doubt, changed the world entirely. To ensure the youth remain upon the cutting edge of technological advancements, the computer club of Modern School, Barakhamba Road, ' Bits n Bytes' organized it's annual Inter-school computing symposium, ACCESS 2013 from 19 to 22 December, 2013.

We reached Modern School around 9 am and then proceeded to the auditorium to join the other competing schools. More than 60 schools across Delhi and NCR participated in the event. This year, to mark the Silver Jubilee of Bits N Bytes, select schools from the country and abroad were invited to participate. Mr. Kapil Sibal, Union Minister for Communication and Information Technology was chief guest at the opening ceremony.

The events were quiz, story-writing, web-designing, multimedia presentations, programming etc. All events were well planned and organized. Our students participated in the following events:

Cadet Quiz: Arya Khanna (V-B), Saurabh Roy (V-B)

The quiz was based on all aspects of computing and IT. There was only one MCQ round of 45 minutes.

Cadet Fancy Dress: Khushi Gaba (V-B)

Participants had to dress to look like some aspect of the field of computers and IT. A maximum of 2 minutes were given to participants to introduce what they represented and were judged on the creativity and quality of their dress as well as their content and it's delivery. Khushi Gaba, class 5, took the second prize after competing with 20 participants. She was awarded with a trophy and several gifts.

Programming: Vikramaditya Bhatnagar (XI )

There was one written MCQ preliminary round of 60 minutes . On the basis of the prelim round, 10 best participants were shortlisted for the final programming round.

Movie Making : Sourav Gupta (X), Yash Sharma (X), Raunaq Bhalla (X), Dhruvi Aggarwal (X), Shruti Bihani (X)

Teams were required to prepare a short film of a maximum duration of 5 minutes based on a theme given. Each team was required to script, act and shoot their video clips inside the host school campus followed by an audio- video editing to compose the clips into a short film.
