Adventure Camp at the School Eco Park, classes 4 and 5

On 18th March 2016, the students of classes 4 and 5 arrived at School brimming with excitement and anticipation as it was the day scheduled for an adventure camp at the School Eco Park near Sohna. Students, along with their teachers, set off in buses at 8 am and arrived at their destination by 9:45am. They were also accompanied by Dr. Anu Singh and Ms. Navreet Shergill, vice principals. The camp saw an overwhelming participation of 162 students. On arrival, the students were divided into small groups. A teacher, along with a special instructor took charge of each group. The students were amazed to see the huge range of props set up to test their physical abilities. Some of the activities arranged were Ladder Climbing, Commando Net, Tunnel Crossing, Mowgli Walk, Burma Bridge, Rope Ladder, Parallel Rope, Artificial River Crossing, Trampoline, Wall Climbing, Rope and Tyre Swing, Vertical Rope and Double Rope.

Altogether, there were 14 activities. Expectedly each one was eager and curious to try them all! The organisers patiently explained the activities. They told them that it was essential to use the correct approach and technique while tackling each activity. The children promptly applied themselves and embarked on the exercises as per direction. They endeavoured to ace the diverse little challenges laid out. Some were swifter than the others while others were cautious and more mindful of each step they took. It was delightful to see all the children cheering for their classmates, motivating and encouraging them to complete each activity. At around 12:30 pm, after attempting a number of activities, the groups proceeded for lunch. The students enjoyed themselves immensely and didnt want to stop. It was heartening to see them so full of energy and ready to go on. A hearty fresh and hot lunch was very welcome at the end, before we stretched ourselves for a bit and left the venue for School. Ms. Mehak Gumber and Ms. Abha Mishra.
