AEON 4.0 inter school computer competition hosted at our School

The Indian School hosted AEON 4.0 an inter-school computer competition on 22 October 2019. 17 prominent schools of Delhi took part in the much anticipated event which is held every two years. AEON is the brainchild of the 2013 batch of The Indianites Media Experts (T.I.M.E), the founders of the computer club of our School.

The competition was held in several categories and saw some of the brightest computer whiz kids from Modern School Vasant Vihar, St. Columbas School, Tagore International School, East of Kailash, Lotus Valley School, Noida, Birla Vidya Niketan, Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, engage in a tight contest.

Guest of honour, Dr. Rahul Purandare, Assistant Professor, Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi, accompanied by Vice Principals Dr Anu Singh and Ms Sukhmeen Cheema, alongwith Ms Simranjeet Kaur HOD Computer Science lit the ceremonial lamp. The School choir presented the timeless invocation, the Saraswati Vandana.

Dr Purandre, addressed the enthusiastic audience and lauded the Schools effort to motivate young technocrats to innovate and conceive of new ideas for future technologies.

The various aspects of the competition were as below.

AEON Beats provided an online platform to participants to present their music mixing skills and create a strip of music by remixing any Hollywood or Bollywood song ( templates were provided).

AEON Arcade witnessed a heads-on clash between the best gamers even as the games were declared on the spot i.e. FIFA and Call of Duty (COD).

AEON Design proved be quite challenging as the participants showcased their creativity and ingenuity against some of the best designers. The goal was to create a convincing poster of any game or Poly art. Students were given two hours to produce their designs.

AEON Tech saw teams compete in the logical analysis and technology quiz for the title of Ultimate Quizmaster. The first round comprised of a written qualifier wherein the participants were given forty minutes to answer twenty questions. Top six teams qualified for the onstage round.

Aeon ++ was a problem-solving and programming event with two rounds. The first round was a traditional pen and paper one where the option of using C++ and Python was given. The second round tested the coding capacities of the individuals as they did a code-off to be the ultimate technocrat.

Aeon Capture was not just about clicking a picture; it was the culmination of the participants vision, skills and creativity. The topics given were Colourless Spectrum, Beaming Tunnel, Unclouded Sky and Battle Within. Only basic editing which included colour enhancement, use of filters and the cropping of the photo(s) was allowed.

Aeon Film Making exhibited a plethora of imaginative short films in which the participants presented their ideas to the judges through the prism of music and video. The participants created a short film on a topic What if that was uploaded on the website in advance. The entries were judged on the basis of creativity and originality and visual effects.

Aeon GD tested the communicative skills of participants as well as their knowledge of social issues and the computing world. The winners were judged for fluency of speech and knowledge.

The event witnessed an outstanding exposition of talent and creativity as young aspiring IT professionals displayed their Tech-knowledge in different categories.

The Rolling Trophy was proudly claimed by Lotus Valley School, Noida.
