Alumni Dandiya-2016

The annual Dandiya evening cum Alumni reunion was organised by School on 7th October 2016 on the School backfield. Students of classes 10 to 12 and teachers welcomed back the old students to the beloved portals of their childhood. The pleasant Friday evening brimmed with nostalgia as the alumni mingled to relive cherished school memories. Dandiya evening is organised each year to bring in the Navratri festivities. A rich carpet of coloured salt rangoli embedded with radiant clay diyas offered a warm welcome to all at the entrance. [gallery link="file"] The bright and alluring diya lamp holding aloft dozens of lighted diyas in the centre of the arena became the pivot of sorts, for the vigorous dancers of the evening. Brilliantly embellished skirts spun continuously to an energetic drumbeat and traditional folk rhythm, making for truly rich festivity. Teachers and students filled up the space to knit concentric circles as they matched move to music and made new memories. Later, scrumptious refreshments whetted the welcome appetites. None realised how the evening flew and soon it was time to part again. The crowd dispersed reluctantly, carrying new memories and renewed associations. But not without a promise to return.
