An outing to the Indira Gandhi Museum- class 3

Accompanied by their teachers, the children of class III went on an educational outing to the Indira Gandhi Museum on July 23, 2014.

The students were told about the excursion beforehand in the classroom. They were therefore familiar with Mrs. Indira Gandhi and a bit of history associated with her.

At the museum, we were led around the exhibits and the teachers told the story of what we were seeing as we walked. Where Mrs. Gandhi had lived and where she also died and how. There were numerous interesting photographs as well where some of the children even recognised personalities.

Next we were shown a short film on the life of Mrs. Gandhi. The children were animated and asked several questions which the teachers happily answered.

After the museum we boarded the buses and proceeded to a park next -door to School. The children enjoyed their abandon as they ran about before sitting down on the grass for a snack. Of course we did not forget to pick up the litter once we had finished. We carefully collected it and carried it back for the waste bin at School.

Once back, we settled down and did a recap of what we had done on the excursion. The children were quizzed to see if they recollected what they had been shown. There were several spontaneous volunteers!

It had been an interesting morning of edutainment!
