Annual Bio Symposium

On 4 August, 2012, our students of classes 9 to 12 participated in an annual symposium organised at Modern School, Barakhamba Road. The theme of the symposium was H.E.A.R.T ( Help Educate Autism- Related Tribulations). Numerous activities, including panel discussion, poster-making, power-point presentations, one- act plays, essay-writing and extempore competition comprised the competitions. These activities not only aimed to create awareness about autism amongst the participants but attempted also, to motivate them to play a proactive role in society in the future.

Mr. Pratap Rudy, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha was guest of honour on the occasion. The panel discussion was headed by several eminent people working actively for the cause including: Mr. J.D. Mukherjee, Ms. Rita Sabharwal, Ms. Mary Barua and Dr. Sameer Parekh. Students of Class 11 performed a one-act play titled I will be your child forever. Students from class 9 participated in the extempore-speaking competition, while students from class 12 participated in the essay-writing, power- point presentation and poster- making competitions. Over 30 distinguished schools from all over Delhi participated in the symposium. The occasion would have successfully established what it set out to, namely, that the autistic are not people with a disability, but those with a difference.
