Art is an integral part of our curriculum as it adds an extended perspective to the children's thinking process. We thus took 4 students from the primary section to participate in the 13th A.C. Deb Memorial Inter - School Art Event at Cambridge School, New Friends Colony on 28th April, 2017.
The event was held on the school premises. The organisers showed the young participants a series of visuals of some famous abstracts by European masters. The idea of the exercise was that students learn to identify the varying styles and then create a piece based on the style they like the most; not simply produce a replica of what is seen.
DPS Indirapuram, Springdales Dhaula Kuan, and Sanskriti School participated along with 13 other schools.
Our artists were:-
Ohaid Khan and Gunika Mina from class-IV Krunal Patel and Peehu Kashyap from class V
Our children chose between mix media drawing and painting.
The results havent been declared yet and the names of the winners will be declared in July, 2017.
It was a thoroughly enriching activity.
