Aunts' Day in Pre- primary

As an exercise to integrate in the childrens' growing- up, a lifelong value for family ties, the Pre-primary children celebrated Aunts day on 19 April, 2014. Ms. Shikha Sharma welcomed our aunts on behalf of School with an inspiring verse.

ONLY AN AUNT CAN GIVE A HUG LIKE A MOTHER, KEEP SECRETS LIKE A SISTER AND SHARE LOVE LIKE A FRIEND

The children then lined up to sing a bunch of specially composed Aunts' Day songs on the occasion. Several young and glamorous aunts could be caught glassy- eyed as they tapped to the rhyme!

An old time favourite , 'Passing the Parcel was enthusiastically played. Soft toys were tossed about as the music tantalised! Our aunts played the perfect sports as they happily wrapped away their reservations to rise to the rousing occasion of a ' punishment performance'! The children screamed in their glee. The winning aunts were gifted potted plants from the School nursery.

Next, some of our aunts dedicated songs to their nieces and nephews at which the respective children blushed as the rest cheered! And soon, the appointed children came around with their ayah- didis in tow with trays of refreshments for everyone. They carefully bent own, offered and carefully handed out as they walked around. Each time the gracious aunts leaned over with a hug! Every heart was truly touched that morning. It had been an occasion for thanksgiving for the blessing of these beautiful bonds.

Our head teacher, offered her thanks to our dear aunts for making the time.
