Awakened Citizen Programme- update.
On 23rd February 2015, two representatives from the Ramakrishna Mission, Ms.Indrani and Ms. Piya Chakraborty visited our School with a view to observe the ongoing Awakened Citizen Programme whilst it was underway in the School auditorium.
The Awakened Citizen Programme developed by the Ramakrishna Mission, is a comprehensive three-year programme based on Swami Vivekanandas message of an infinite potential in every individual, which can be manifested as excellence in every walk of life. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has collaborated with the Mission to initiate this Value Education programme for students of classes VII, VIII and IX in schools across the nation.
The students of class VII were assembled in the auditorium for the session. The teachers associated with the programme at our School, Ms. Gandharvi Mukherjee and Ms.Vidusha Sharma were to take up the 11th session of the programme, namely-Engaging with Culture and Society.

Ms. Gandharvi Mukherjee welcomed the guests and began the session. It was an interactive session where students shared their views and opinions on the modules that were shown to them. Later, Ms.Vidusha Sharma took over the proceedings.
The visiting experts suggested ways to encourage the maximum participation of students. They also offered ideas on better strategies to achieving the goals. In the end, two students from each section were chosen by the guests for a viva. The conversation was filmed for documentation and record. The associated teachers were also asked questions on what they felt about the programme and how they thought the program was functioning at their School.
The observation ended on a positive note as the experts said that the next level ( class VIII) would begin in April and that they were looking forward to returning to our School.
