Bagless Day activities

On Saturday, 2 March 2024, The Indian School organised a bagless day for the students of classes 1 and 2 which included a range of activities that were both enjoyable and educational. The day commenced with a lively and informative morning assembly, which set a positive mood for the day ahead.

Following the assembly, the students enjoyed movie time, where they watched ‘The Secret Life of Pets’. The film not only entertained them, but also taught them valuable lessons on friendship and loyalty. This activity encouraged the students to think about the world from a different perspective, thereby promoting empathy and kindness towards animals.

The next session was fireless cooking, which was a hit among the students as they learnt to make sandwiches using a variety of ingredients. This activity not only taught them basic cooking skills, but also emphasised the importance of healthy eating habits. In addition, they hosted a cookery show where they spoke about the process of making the sandwiches which aimed at enhancing their communication skills.

Later, the students participated in a fun-filled hoola hoop session, where they showcased their agility and coordination. The games were not only enjoyable but also helped in developing their physical skills and teamwork. Next, the students engaged in activities using origami sheets, where they learnt the art of paper folding, creating beautiful and intricate designs. This activity not only stimulated their creativity, but also enhanced their fine motor skills and patience.

The day continued with an enchanting storytelling session, where students listened to captivating stories that transported them to different worlds and sparked their imagination. The storytelling session was not only entertaining but also encouraged a love for reading and storytelling.

The students participated in an art and craft session. The art activity, which focused on animals, allowed students to express themselves artistically while learning about different species and their habitats. The day also featured music activities, where students had the opportunity to explore different musical instruments and rhythms, enhancing their appreciation for music, and promoting creativity.

The day concluded with a special session where teachers of class 1 visited class 2, and vice versa, to discuss the importance of discipline in students' lives. This exchange of ideas and experiences helped students understand the value of discipline in achieving their goals and success in life. The students participated in a group reflection session, where they shared their thoughts and feelings about the day's activities. This session provided them with an opportunity to express themselves and reflect on their experiences, fostering self-awareness and introspection.

Overall, bagless day at The Indian School was a resounding success, providing students with a fun-filled day of learning and exploration, and creating lasting memories for everyone involved.
