Book Launch- The Pataala Prophecy- Son of Bhrigu by Christopher C. Doyle

Sometimes you need to look deeper within. If you look for a deeper meaning, you will find it.

Christopher C. Doyle.

On 4 May 2018, 18 students of class XI accompanied by their teacher Ms. Gandharvi Mukherjee headed to Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar to attend the book launch ceremony of Mr. Christopher C. Doyle's new book- The Pataala Prophecy- Son of Bhrigu. Mr. Doyle has best-selling books to his name, some of them being The Mahabharat Quest, The Alexander Secret and The Secret of the Druids. The heart of his books is mythology and Mr. Doyle constantly amalgamates contemporary life with the ancient texts and myths.

After unveiling his latest creation, Mr. Doyle conducted an interactive session with the students of various schools present there. He explained how a thin line between mythology and history exists; the former being something that has prevailed as people's beliefs but with no concrete evidence and the latter being the product of evidences and proofs found by archaeologists.

Mr. Doyle discussed how numerous historical structures across the world stand tall with no hard evidence of their creators or builders even years into the 21st century. He cited the example of the Stone Henge in England and how nobody precisely knows who constructed this or how gigantic stones weighing more than 70 tonnes were mobilised in early times. The stones of Tiwanaku in Bolivia have theories of their origins lined in controversy and the names of the builders in oblivion.

At the end, Mr. Doyle gave away a short summary of his book. The book talks of a teenager, Arjun, whose regular life is turned upside down when he realises he is a kshatriya. He finds out that he is the chosen one from an ancient prophecy and that he has to stop the end of the world. With their lives in danger, Arjun and his best friend, Maya, flee Delhi to a gurukul, hidden at a nature resort.

The author spared time to sign books for his young readers and the students departed with fond memories of meeting a best-selling author!
