Brainstorming for Cleaner Air and Better Health

On August 31, a group of students of class XI got the opportunity to be a part of a national dialogue on Cleaner Air and Better Health, hosted at the Hyatt Regency hotel. Experts, policymakers, and stakeholders present at the event addressed the pressing issue of the impact of air quality on public health.

The participants engaged in a discussions aimed at formulating effective strategies to mitigate air pollution and enhance overall well-being. The event underscored the significance of collaborative actions, policy reforms, and technological advancements in achieving the same. Conversations revolved around innovative solutions, regulatory enhancements, and public education campaigns to drive tangible progress.

The CABH (Cleaner Air and Better Health) project is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which aims to strengthen air pollution mitigation and reduce exposure to air pollution in India by establishing evidence-based models for better air quality management. In support of the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP), the consortium partners are working towards accelerating particulate matter reduction in India.

The speakers discussed their points of view freely. Each of them was posed questions and the answers were based on facts and the future betterment of our nature, not just for India but for mankind as a whole.

USAID is a U.S. government agency responsible for providing foreign aid and humanitarian assistance to countries around the world. USAID's mission is to promote economic and social development, alleviate poverty, and support democratic governance in various regions.

NCAP The National Clean Air Programme is an initiative by a number of countries to address air quality and reduce air pollution. Such programmes aim to improve air quality through various measures like vehicle emissions standards, industrial emissions control, and public awareness campaigns.

A science exhibition was also a part of this programme intended to showcase projects based on ideas developed by school children to protect the environment.

The mission was based on helping everyone by innovations on the ground to minimise the toxicity in the atmosphere.
