A Business Studies' Workshop on the 'Updation of Teaching Methodology' was held on 13 May, 2014 at Delhi Public School, R.K. . It was attended by Ms. Pooja Bahl of the commerce department at our School. The workshop assumed importance in the context of the sweeping changes in not only the structure of question papers in the class XII Boards 2015 but also the typology of questions to be expected.

The workshop was attended by commerce teachers of more than 100 schools of Delhi. Distinguished speakers, Dr P.C. Jain, Principal SRCC, Ms. Meena Goel and Mr Sandeep Sethi, education officers at CBSE were invited to orient teachers regarding these modifications in project work and other aspects of the next Business Studies' board exam in 2015.

Ms. Meena Goel is associated with CBSE, for Commerce for about 20 years while Mr. Sandeep Sethi is the pioneer of the innovative changes introduced by CBSE lately.

A notable change from the old format is the introduction of HOTS ( higher order thinking skills) and evaluation and of multi- disciplinary questions, in addition to application- based questions. The weightage of such questions in the boards has also been raised from 20% to 60%.

In the second session, Mr Sandeep Sethi suggested the use of business crosswords and the word-maze to introduce or revise concepts of business and management.

Dr P.C. Jain, Principal SRCC, Delhi University also addressed the gathering of academicians on the need to make the teaching- learning process enjoyable and creative for all.
