My classmates, Harshul Chugh, Kanika Bhatia and I, Prashansa Gupta went on an internship programme to a CA firm named Mukku Associates. Our internship started on 27 May, 2013. It was a 5 day programme and we put in 4-5 hours each day. Mr. Tarun Chadda who works as an articled clerk at the firm was our guide for the period of internship.
On the first day we were introduced to the preparation of the different types of accounts for example, a ledger account , a journal, a trial balance, a balance sheet etc. On the second day we started learning how to work on Tally 7.2. The subsequent days saw us we practising with dummy entries on the software and we quickly became familiar with it. We created our individual dummy companies on the software and entered our own entries which actually got us into the feel of being in the seat, as it were! Young proprietors, managers and accountants.
It was a wonderful experience to actually put our hands to, what we learnt in our textbooks in class. We also got a feel of working in an office environment.
I would like to thank our School for providing us with such a valuable chance of a firsthand experience.
