Career Counselling Workshop for Senior School students

A special workshop on career counselling was organised for students of classes X to XII on 2nd December 2016 by ReachIvy, a counselling group. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Vibha Kagzi, Founder and CEO of ReachIvy and Grishma Nanavaty, a fellow counsellor who provides a global perspective to the organisation. ReachIvy is a premium education and careers advisory organisation that helps aspiring students to get into Ivy League and other top schools globally and in the process, help them to accomplish their career goals.

During the workshop, Ms. Kagzi and Ms. Nanavaty used a power point presentation to highlight the benefits of education abroad. They also explained the current scenario of student exchange programmes and employment opportunities. They suggested that the best countries for availing these opportunities are the USA, UK and Singapore.

Ms. Kagzi highlighted the pros of studying in the USA and UK. According to them, the tuition fees offered by universities in the USA are subsidised by the state government. In addition to this, the universities often provide private residence and campus jobs. The assessment and study methods in these countries are different from those in India in terms of approach and flexibility. On the other hand, countries like Singapore with their multicultural outlook, affordable education and infrastructure are more attractive to Asians.

Ms. Nanavaty informed the students about the procedures and formalities required to get into universities in the above countries, including various entrance examinations. She also emphasised the significant role played by extracurricular activities in strengthening our portfolios.

This was an extremely enriching experience and students wish to be a part of such workshops in the future as well. We are sure students feel they can stay ahead of the curve with opportunities such as these to enlighten them.
