CBSE Capacity Building Workshop for class 10 Math

To train teachers in dealing better with the challenges faced by students and to make the teaching- learning process more effective, CBSE organised a capacity building workshop for teachers of class 10 Math at Amrita Vidyalayam on 19 and 20 September 2018. 60 teachers of various reputed schools across Delhi NCR attended the workshop. Ms. Pooja Mendiratta represented our school at the workshop.

The workshop began with a welcome address by resource person, Ms. Ishita Mukherjee, teacher-trainer at CBSE. Mr. Neeraj Saxena, Math teacher at DPS, Vidyut Nagar, was the second resource person.

The single objective of the programme was to equip participants with skills and competencies required to effectively teach challenging content areas in the syllabus. Ms. Mukherjee familiarised participants with the concept of Multiple Intelligence and guided them in effective planning of lessons. She emphasised that the teacher can facilitate learning by creating a lively, playful and experiential learning environment in the classroom.

The workshop concluded with activities like the Mathbola, Finding the missing side in a pythagorean stack and making Toys of waste material. These activities act as invaluable teaching aids as per the resource persons. The games were conceived of to help teachers prepare more engaging lesson plans. The session concluded with the distribution of participation certificates to all the teachers who attended the programme.
