CBSE Teachers' Training Workshop

On ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION held between 21 and 23 February, 2013.

Ms Sangita Verma, PGT Economics and Ms Pooja Bahl, PGT Commerce participated in the CBSE workshop held at the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Noida which was also attended by several schools like Manavsthali, Tagore International, Cambridge School as well as outstation schools from Lucknow, Hapur, Jaipur, etc.

The workshop dwelt on the need to promote entrepreneurship as a discipline of the 21st century, especially for students who are inclined to innovation over than rote learning.

The first day of the workshop focused on 'Whole Brain Mapping' by what were named 'wow' Factors.

New concepts of entrepreneurship were introduced on the second day. Mr. A Bhattacharya from CBSE provided useful insights into new course curriculum. New modules of the curriculum would be shortly uploaded on the CBSE website, we were told. He also addressed the audience on promoting an Idea, a prerequisite of entrepreneurship, on the second and third days of the workshop.

Mr Sandip Sethi Education Officer, Commerce CBSE provided useful tips on projects planned for the subject on the third day.

Teachers had an opportunity of interactive sessions with Prof. Jayaseelan Ganeshan, from the IIM who spoke on motivation and success in entrepreneurship.

We also got an opportunity to interact with teachers of other schools where the subject was introduced some years earlier.

A feedback session has been proposed in the month of July, 2013.
