Christmas assembly by Pre primary

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful Norman Vincent Peale

December brings a lot of warmth, hope and glad tidings. To spread the message of love and good cheer, the children of Pre school Kokab, Capella, Delphini, Agena, Hercule and Pre Primary Leo presented a spectacular assembly on 23 December 2022 on the occasion of Christmas.

The assembly commenced with a prayer Everything I am by the students of PS Kokab. The little ones sang the prayer in tune and with devotion.

The children of PP Leo recreated the nativity scene using audio songs. The audience watched in awe as their peers presented the story of the birth of Jesus. The characters in the skit included Mary, Joseph, the angel, the innkeepers, the king and the shepherds. The performance sought to teach that Christmas is not just about Santa, gifts, feasting, carnival and decorations but also the everlasting values of sharing and compassion for each other.

The children of PS Capella sang and danced to the carol Rudolph the red nosed reindeer wearing the headgear of reindeer horns. The mood was set.

The tiny tots of PS Delphini shared with their peers the true meaning of the symbols of Christmas such as the tree, candy cane, the Christmas wreath, the star, bells, stockings etc. They danced happily to the tune of I am a happy Christmas Tree.

The children of PS Hercule wore little bells on their wrists and danced to a Punjabi version of Jingle Bells with a twist of bhangra!

In the end, the students of PS Agena sang a melodious song We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Two endearing little Santas from PS Kokab and PP Leo made an entry on stage with a message for everyone to be good and to have empathy and compassion for one another.

The Christmas tree and its ornaments such as the bells, stars and gifts were all handcrafted using egg cartons, old newspaper and used shopping bags, painted over by the children.

Ms Vandana Tiwari, Head Teacher concluded the assembly with Christmas wishes for all present.
