Chunauti- inter school event

A two day inter-school competition, Chunauti was hosted by Apeejay School, Saket on 28th and 29th April, 2016. Twenty four schools from across Delhi participated in the competition. The host school had lined up several events and our School participated in all, including Music, Yoga, Web designing, Wall Painting, Toy Story Writing, ShlokGyan and Poetry Writing. On 28th April, we were welcomed with a beautifully sung Saraswati Vandana. The principal and judges then briefly spoke to motivate participants.

The Indian music event was held in the auditorium. It was to be a duet in semi-classical style. The participants from our School were Shivangini Sharma (X) and Milanpreet Kaur (X). They won the hearts of the listeners present with their mellifluous rendition of the famous thumri, Yaad piyaki aye. They were accompanied on the tabla by Vadish Kardam (X) and they secured the third position. Vadish Kardam was also handed a Special Appreciation award (Instrumental). In the Rhythmic Yoga competition, our participant was Gunika Jolly of class VI who ably took the second position. Sukrit Gupta (XI) and Ayush Chauhan (XI) won the second prize for Web Designing. The competitors were given the topic and matter to compile for the same the on the spot. The topic given to them was Digital India. They had a time limit of two hours and had to create a website consisting of four to six webpages. The language used by the students to make the website was HTML/Java. On the 29th, our students went for the Indian dance (solo), ShlokGyan and Art competitions. In the ShlokGyan event, participants were given six shlokas to memorise and recite. Our Aadrita Goswami (VII) took the third prize here. A champion is someone who does not settle for that days practice, that days competition, that days performance. They are always striving to be better. They dont live in the past. Aadrita Goswami (VIIE), Shivangini Sharma (XC) and Sukrit Gupta (XIA).
