Class 1 interacts online with peers in Vietnam school
Students of class I engaged in an enriching virtual cultural exchange with Grade 3 students at Yersin School, Da Lat, Lam Dong, Vietnam, on 21 September 2026. Designed to cultivate cross-cultural understanding and global peer interaction, the session centred around Vietnam’s Mid-Autumn Festival and India’s cultural heritage.
Representing The Indian School, Nirvi Nasa, Prisha Prakash, Shanaya Garg, and Shreyansh Arya delivered an informative presentation introducing their international counterparts to India's national symbols and explaining their historical and constitutional significance. Adding a hands'-on dimension, the young learners crafted vibrant lanterns symbolising the Mid-Autumn celebrations.
The Vietnamese students reciprocated with artwork dedicated to Lord Ganesha, reflecting thoughtful cross-cultural curiosity. Students from Yersin School, Huy, Quang, Nicolas, and Theo presented a visual showcase on the customs, street illuminations, and festive folklore associated with the Mid-Autumn Festival. The presentation was followed by a traditional festival dance, offering the primary learners a direct window into Vietnamese performing arts and celebratory customs.
The interaction concluded with a collaborative twenty-question bilateral quiz, evenly split between historical and cultural facts about India and Vietnam. Testing active listening and retention in a spirited atmosphere, the quiz saw Team India emerge victorious. The exchange gave young learners valuable global exposure while nurturing collaborative communication, intercultural appreciation, and international camaraderie at an early age.
