On 31 July 2023, 50 students of class X, along with 2 teachers, embarked on a fun filled visit to the Delhi Book Fair, at Pragati Maidan. This year, it was the 27th edition of the fair and was held between 29 July and 2 August 2023.
In todays times when most of us prefer to buy books online, the fair offered a great platform to explore and search for books of various genres.
[gallery link="file" order="DESC" columns="2" orderby="rand"]On entering, the students saw the pavilion amply decorated with colourful posters and rows of books catering to diverse tastes. They spent the available hours browsing through an assortment of books, lapping up the richly stacked shelves all around. It was a tall task indeed, to select what they best wanted to buy within their budgets! The diverse bonanza included literary pieces from various countries and genres. From the feminist classics of Jane Austen to the spine-chilling stories by Junji Ito, the book fair had them all! There were just so many exciting titles to buy!
To add to the excitement, there was a vast collection of offerings beyond books. The event offered a delightful variety of school supplies and quirky stationery. The students had a field day exploring notebooks, designer pens, canvases, folders, bags, handmade paper, craft pens, charcoal pens, and more.
The Indianites boarded the bus back to School, tightly clutching their bags filled with new acquisitions, along with reminiscences of a day well spent!
The students spoke in unison as they expressed their desire to return to the book fair next year!
