Class 11 internship, 2025 for Commerce students at a CA's office

From 24 to 28 May 2025, 7 students of class XI C participated in an immersive internship at Anil K. Maheshwari & Company. The participants were Ishita Kapoor, Ayanna Dawar, Naina Upreti, Priyanshi Sharma, Shezreen Kaur Bhatia, Aarav Sachdeva and Arnav Kumar.

The internship commenced with a warm welcome at the company, where the students were introduced to an array of career options available after completing their 12th. A significant focus was placed on Chartered Accountancy (CA) as a promising career path, with comprehensive answers provided to their questions regarding the roles and responsibilities of a CA.

On the second day, the students engaged in practical learning by creating ledgers and making journal entries using Tally Prime. They also delved into essential financial concepts, such as profit and loss accounts and balance sheets, gaining insights into how to create and interpret these crucial financial documents.

On the third day, the curriculum shifted to tax computation. They learnt how to calculate taxes based on different income sources and tax slabs. The session included practical exercises where they calculated taxes and understood various components affecting tax liability, such as deductions and exemptions. This knowledge was essential for grasping the complexities of personal and corporate taxation.

The fourth day was dedicated to honing  skills in Excel, where the students learned to design graphs representing company shares and ledgers. This hands'-on experience proved invaluable for mastering data visualisation techniques, enhancing their ability to analyse financial information effectively. The students were tasked with delivering presentations in which they selected five companies to analyse their stock prices. They conducted a thorough evaluation of each company's financial performance and market trends to identify the most promising investment opportunity. Through this exercise, the students sharpened their analytical skills and gained practical experience in evaluating investment options, ultimately presenting their findings on the best company for potential investment.

Overall, this internship provided the students with significant insights and practical skills that will be instrumental in their future career endeavours, equipping them with the knowledge and expertise needed in the fields of commerce and finance. We are grateful for the invaluable experience made possible by Messrs Anil K. Maheshwari and  Company,
