A special assembly was conducted by class IB on 14 August 2019, to jointly celebrate Independence day and Rakshabandhan. The assembly commenced with a skit based on OnakeObavva, an unsung hero, lost in the history of Karnataka. This hero fought against Hyder Alis mighty army in order to save the fort guarded by her husband. Sarthak, Mohisha, Drishti and Vedant narrated the inspirational story while their classmates enacted the brave saga. Aaradhya as Obavva impressed everyone with her acting skills. All students performed with poise.
[gallery link="file"]Next, students celebrated Raksha Bandhan in a unique manner with equally, the boys tying the rakhi with its promise of protection, on the wrists of the girls and vice-versa. The novel observance of this festival conveyed the message of universal brotherhood and sisterhood and gender equality.
The solemn and sublime moment was followed by an energetic dance performance. The assembly culminated the national anthem.
The festivities were a fitting ode to Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan; leaving an indelible mark on the impressionable minds by sowing the seeds of patriotism, family and friendship and true freedom from baggages of redundant beliefs.
