Class 4 visits Gandhi Smriti

On 3rd August 2023, a group of 157 class 4 students, accompanied by 5 teachers, embarked on an educational excursion to Gandhi Smriti. The objective of this trip was to sensitise the students about the profound beliefs and principles of Mahatma Gandhi, such as 'Unity in Strength,' 'Satyagraha,' and the significance of 'Truth and Non-Violence' as powerful weapons for change. This visit proved to be an inspiring experience for the young minds as they delved into the life and teachings of Gandhi ji.

The museum at Gandhi Smriti showcased a captivating pictorial display of India's freedom struggle and the transformation of Mohandas into Mahatma. The students were led through the museum's beautifully presented corridors, where they witnessed vivid scenes from Gandhiji's remarkable life. They were particularly moved by the stone imprints of Bapu's sacred last footsteps at the site of his martyrdom, symbolising his unwavering commitment to his principles.

The excursion also offered the students a glimpse into the art of spinning khadi using the charkha. The process fascinated the young learners, and they gained valuable insights into the role of khadi in India's struggle for independence. Additionally, the museum's upper floor housed a short yet impactful documentary and a Gandhi multimedia exhibition, which further enriched the students' understanding of the Mahatma's legacy.

During the visit, the students paid tribute by singing the iconic devotional song 'Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram' and their school song. This heartfelt gesture allowed them to express their respect and admiration for the great leader, as they sang with passion and enthusiasm.
