Class 5 learns about good gut health

The Indian School organised an informative workshop titled ‘Good Gut Good Health’ for the students of Class V on 18 September 2026. The session was conducted by Ms Nishi Kumari who holds a master’s degree in Biotechnology from IIT Bombay. 100 students, (20 students from each section0, attended the workshop. 

Through an engaging presentation, students learnt about the importance of a balanced diet, essential nutrients and the role of good and harmful bacteria in the digestive system. A model of the digestive system helped them understand the structure and functions of the small and large intestines. The discussion also explained how probiotics support gut health. 

The workshop was interactive and enriching, and the students participated enthusiastically by answering questions and sharing their observations.
