On 25th July 2023, School organised an educational visit to the National Science Centre at Pragati Maidan, with an enthusiastic group of 71 students from class 5, accompanied by 4 dedicated teachers. The timing of the visit was perfect, coinciding with the celebration of International Moon Day, which added an extra layer of excitement and relevance to the experience.
The highlight of the visit was a captivating hands-on session that focused on our celestial neighbour, the Moon. The National Science Centre had curated an informative and engaging programme, allowing the students to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of lunar exploration.

It provided a unique and immersive learning environment, where they learned about the Moon's origin, its intriguing topography, and the remarkable history of both manned and unmanned missions that have ventured to our lunar companion.
As the students gazed at the mesmerising visuals of the Milky Way Galaxy and admired the breathtaking view of Earth from space, their sense of wonder and curiosity reached new heights. Short films presented during the session enlightened them about the sheer size of the craters on the Moon and the intriguing reasons behind their formation. They also gained insights into the different phases of the Moon and discovered the mysteries hidden on both its near and far sides.
The workshop that followed the interactive session provided ample opportunities for the students to have fun while learning. Activities like simulating the creation of a crater on the Moon and crafting a comet helped them grasp scientific concepts in an enjoyable and hands-on way. These engaging activities further fuelled their passion for scientific exploration and discovery.
