Class 7 students integrate Physics with Dance to portray the journey of Kalpana Chawla
On 2 August 2025, the students of The Indian School echoed the corridors of Birla Vidya Niketan where the science and art converged on a luminous stage at Reflectia – Dance of Light and Illusion, a unique initiative under the aegis of Bharat Yatra (APBY Anveshika Physics), a prestigious initiative led by the National Anveshika Network of India in collaboration with the Indian Association of Physics Teachers.
Inspired by the words of Kalpana Chawla, “The path from dreams to success does exist. May you have the vision to find it and the courage to get onto it”, our talented students brought this vision to life through an extraordinary fusion of science and performance.
With grace, intellect, and creativity, Aaishi Sengupta, Aaradhya Saluja, and Alina Lal of class 8, along with Amaira Kapoor of class 7, beautifully portrayed the inspiring journey of Kalpana Chawla. Their choreography seamlessly integrated the scientific principles of concave, convex, and plane mirrors, transforming abstract Physics into an evocative dance narrative.
Among 10 participating teams from across the region, our School’s performance stood out for its innovation and expressive storytelling. With mesmerising visuals, thoughtful symbolism, and precise synchronisation, our students earned the Special Category Award for Best Choreography—a testament to their hard work and our School's commitment to fostering scientific curiosity through artistic expression.
Reflectia was more than a competition—it was a celebration of light, vision, and the boundless possibilities that arise when science meets soul. The event was a radiant blend of knowledge and creativity, leaving behind a trail of inspiration and reminding us that when young minds are empowered to explore, they illuminate the world with brilliance.
