Class 8 engages in experiential learning at School Eco Park

On the 1 and 8 December 2023, the students of class 8 embarked on an educational journey to the School eco park. 51 students went on the trip on the first day and 48 students on the second day, accompanied by two teachers on each day. The students were offered a hands' on experience of science and farming. They were captivated by the interactive life sized models at the park. Engaging displays and hands-on experiments provided them with a deeper understanding of the scientific principles, fostering a love for learning beyond the classroom.

The intricacies of genetics came to life as students explored a DNA model. Witnessing the structure of DNA first hand sparked curiosity, enhancing the comprehension of the building blocks of life. Students observed and experimented with the conservation of Momentum, enhancing their knowledge of Physics.

One of the highlights of the visit was the hands-on experience of picking fresh vegetables. Students actively participated in sowing, nurturing and picking ready produce. This practical engagement not only connected them with the soil but also instilled a sense of appreciation for the toil involved in farming.

The joy of harvesting fresh vegetables directly from the neatly laid beds was an unforgettable experience for the students. This activity not only connected them with nature but also highlighted the importance of sustainable practices in food production. Throughout the visit, students gained valuable insights into cropping techniques. From understanding soil preparation to learning about irrigation methods, the visit provided a holistic view of the nurturing process.
