Class II excursion to Places of Worship
On Tuesday 24th January 2017, students of class II were taken on a short
tour of the different places of worship in the neighbourhood. They were accompanied by their class teachers.
Most students had visited either a temple or a gurudwara, or church or a mosque. But they had never been to any place of worship other than their own. It was therefore a novel experience and learning to discover the different places of worship together.

The journey began with a visit to Gurudwara Singh Sabha in Defence Colony. After a brief explanation about the significance of the gurudwara amongst the Sikhs, the group proceeded to the Ramakrishna Temple next door
. The children offered homage there and then went ahead to their next stop, a mosque in Defence Colony. Finally, we headed to the Centenary Methodist Church on Lodhi Road. Here we spent a few minutes in the peaceful environs of the church, before boarding our buses to return.
Seeing the various places of worship and the practices followed at each was a refreshing outdoor reinforcement of what was taught in the classroom to the children.
