Class III G.K Quiz (Theme India)

Children of all ages enjoy the challenge of a quiz. It is one of the most popular methods of acquiring and assimilating knowledge. Keeping this spirit in mind, students of class III participated in a G.K quiz on February 10, 2015 in the school auditorium. Students were selected house- wise on the basis of their knowledge on current affairs. A written question-answer session based on general knowledge was conducted in each section of class 3. The students who scored the highest marks were chosen as the representatives of their respective houses on stage . Each class teacher prepared their students for the quiz by giving them regular updates about India. A separate notebook was made which contained information relating to the theme- India. For example, famous personalities, our heritage, famous musicians, national symbols and their significance etc. The quiz had 5 rounds and each round carried 10 marks. The rounds were:

  • I Know
  • Guess who I am?
  • Saat Sur
  • Our Indian heritage
  • India

All the teams enthusiastically participated and answered questions confidently. It greatly added to the knowledge of the students and also aroused their curiosity to learn more.

Class I students in the audience observed the older children and watched their excitement and the initiative as they attempted answering questions, whereas the class II students took the initiative to answer questions put to the audience and were often successful in this endeavour! They were excited to receive a chocolate for each correct answer! Class III students who were participating uninhibitedly displayed their delight as they participated. The atmosphere seemed charged as they rooted for their teams, fervently hoping their team mates gave correct answers to notch up their scores. Questions on Mr. Modi, Mr. Barack Obama, the forth coming state elections, etc elicited an unusually informed and animated response from the students of classes I to III . A first-of-its-kind event organised for class III that met with tremendous success in terms of participation and response. Report by Ms. Bhanu Batra.
